sorry i forgot to mention my daughter is 2 nearly 3 and when i say her  hair makes her special i dont mean with out it she wouldnt be. she had a op on her head when she was born and has a scar there thats why her hair makes her special cos it hides the scar.

Well, her scar makes her pretty special too.  It is her reminder of the battle she went through as a baby, and is something to be proud of.  Her hair will grow back in time.  Actually, you will be surprised at how quickly it does grow back. Your daughter is the same age as my middle daughter, and I can tell you now, she isn't going to be terribly phased by it, if you aren't.  I just want to know how a child her age manages to use a pair of scissors like that, I struggle on occassion to use scissors, and I'm nearly 30! lol.  She sounds very smart and full of dexterity.

Still, I hope you didn't let on that you felt this way to your daughter. She may have a scar but you don't want her to feel disfigured and as though she has to hide it. In any case I also think you should take photos and report it, you're lucky that's all that happened to her in your MIL's care.
