Why do you think all the hate speech and violence are originating from Republicans?

Twenty years ago after a decade of heavy Republican lobbying, the Fairness in Broadcasting Act was repealed which opened the floodgates to Sturmabteilung cheerleaders like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, David Medved, Todd Schnitt, Bill O'Reilly, down to scum like Hal Turner, et al, to spew their hatred across the airwaves without having to give equal time to opposing views and now their goals have come to fruition. We now have a dumbed-down, deaf, violent America incapable of critical thinking or rational argument.

This is right out of the Nazi textbook:
“Naturally, the common people don’t want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country. It works the same in every country.” - Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reichsmarschall at the Nuremburg Trials.

We are entering our Kristallnacht.

Probably because someone missed the Democratic primaries, when the Dems were doing much the same thing to Obama that many Republicans are.
Granted, they weren't as numerous or zealous as the Republicans are, but it's a bit misleading to say that everything is coming out of the Republican camp.

I think that the hate comes from stupidity, which is on both sides. I think the worst of it comes from those republicans who are also racist this election. They are the angriest Americans right now because they know there's a decent chance Obama will be president.

they're loosing. they'll do anything to win. anything. as what they did with Bush loosing both elections - but who's in the white house. the person who was PUT in the white house. and something will happen before this election that will try to scare people into sticking with the same sh__. Hopefully, most people will not fall for it AGAIN.

Because they are getting desperate - OK, make that more desperate - and will grab at any straws in an attempt to win, by any means necessary.

Republicans as well as democrats are both capable of hate speech but if you want to see true hate or violence disagree with a democrat or a liberal.
Democrats are notoriously more prone to riots, violence and civil disobediance than republicans.
You rarely see republicans roting or causing civil unrest, There are exceptions of course but it is rare.
Conservatives are simply "conservative" and not as prone to use violence or civil unrest to make their point.
That is a weakness amongst republicans in my opinion and one of the biggest reasons I am not one of them.

Rather dated, but still pretty good. Written by a liberal, about liberal hate speech.

Please note, I'm not saying that there aren't people on the republican side being stupid. Just wanted to point out to Halli that "all" the hate speech and violence doesn't just come from one side.

i remember once, after we'd lost our fetus, that one of my professors thought that i was conservative and lashed out at me. i told my advisor that i'm more liberal than anybody in the us senate. hate speech and violence are not unique to republicans, over time. hate and violence are found among desperate people, and, right now after 8 years of W, republicans are getting pretty desperate.

No party is completely innocent stretching the truth and negativity. It does appear the worst of it is coming from the Right. McCain just said at a rally that Obama would "say anything to win." Perhaps he needs to look in the mirror when he says that again.

It would appear that radical fringe groups have a larger effect in the way that Republicans conduct their political campaigns. This also has the effect of alienating the party members that are moderate, and independent voters.
We can already see a ” Maverick Effect “ , Republicans openly crossing party lines to support and endorse the Democratic candidate.

And, some examples of hate speech directed towards Republicans from a VERY good source....

Is Republican ignorance rising faster than Arctic temperatures?
Is 'Republican rage' the next 'road rage'?
Who are Republicans trying to censor and bribe in 2008?
Is McCain both a liar and a pork barrel spender?
Is Sarah Palin "the ultimate bridge to nowhere"?
Is Palin a WMD (Woman of Mass Destruction)?
Isn't WHAT Palin says stupid enough without mocking HOW she says it?
Are Republicans too ignorant, stupid, or rabid to accept the truth directly from John McCain?
Should the official Republican ad approval message be changed to "All smear, no fact, approved by Dick Cheney's buttcrack."?

Sound familiar?
