My 3 sons are very protective of their sister I wouldn't say excessively so but their have been times when my husband and I have had to set them striaght about who's role it is to be parenting. They are all older then her and sometimes she has complained about them GA_googleFillSlot("minti_advice_island_logged_out_300x250"); telling her what to do,she loves them dearly but we have had to tell them on a few occasions that these are not their decissions to make. My son came home from work one day when he found out she was invited to a party and told me in no uncertain terms that she was not going to that party and if she was he was going while I did listen to what he had to say he was told that it was our decision to make not his she never got to make decisions on where they were allowed to go and he would not be making them for her. I know they will all make fine fathers one day but they have to let her make her own decisions and her own mistakes. Her older brother is now telling her she needs to make more of an effort at school and is now checking in with her once a week to see how things are going which she says he needs to get a life but have explained to her that he only wants to see her do well as he had the brains but just did enough to get by. I went to school with a girl that she could not do anything with out her brothers watching her and I always remembered it especially when she went out on her first date they followed her for the whole night at a distance but still enough to make her uncomfortable I was just amazed I have 2 brothers and they wer not like this, so I know she is expecting this senorio in the near future but we will be ready for them. My daughter is a strong personality so she doesn't let them walk over her either she stands her ground which is good considering she lives in a mainly male household my husband says she has learned that from me.I know seeing that girl with her brothers really stuck in my mind and i think i learned that lesson from her and yes she did eventually get married i would say they all joke about it today.
