Reason you can't find anything is because you have your coax cable plugged in to "loop through"------Connect it to the proper coax connector on the back of your receiver and you will get a signal. LOL

No need for sat finder.

Go to this site and get all your aiming information.

http://satcalculator.freehostia.com/

Just make sure your mast is plumb and using the co ordinates given you should be able to aim your Dish to the Sat of your choice in less than 15 minutes---Using your receiver to verify signal and quality.

There is a site that we all use called "dishpointer(dot)com".../ It's been a while since i was there.. You can use Google Earth to find exactly where you live and exactly where to point your dish to get the sats you want...It will even show you if a tree is in the way... Its cool..., You use the sats to find the sats!!!

Most helpful was referral to "dishpointer.com" - an incredibly accurate and easy to use site - very impressed! Problem solved purely by dumb (emphasize DUMB) luck. I was trying to locate birds by pushing "menu" key, then going into "system" screen, then going into "signal status" screen, but getting absolutely nothing on meters! Should have pushed "menu" button, then go into "installation" screen, then go into "dish settings" and voila! found bird in about 30 seconds. Sorry for the dumb (again, emphasize DUMB) question, as it was my misunderstanding of how the system operates - still a newbie, goo-goo, ga-ga. P.S. You may remove original thread if you like - not sure how to do it myself. Thanks again!

You haven't said what motor you have, what dish mount you have, what motor angle you used, what dish elevation angle you used, what sat's you've tried to find, and how you tried to find them, what settings you used in the receivers antenna setup section, etc. Unless you give details, people can only say to follow the instructions.
