I want to get a story published before I die, my question is?

What type of book? How many pages? How many pages should I write before finishing a chapter.... My book title name is called rain drops on rose petals.. Anything to that effect?? THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

That book title would be good for a romance. Before we go further, it's a good idea to tell us if you have one foot in the grave or are digging your own hole. In other words, what is the hurry?

The type of book, it's length, and how many pages each chapter will have, it's all up to you. However, many people-myself included- like books that have between 300-500 pages, less than 300 is too short, and more than 500 can sometimes be too long.

Keep in mind that some excellent books are a lot shorter than 300 pages, or a lot longer than 500 pages.

It all depends on your story, how fast and interesting it is. If you need only 100 pages to make your statement, and get people to enjoy it, then that's okay (think of Animal Farm).

I like the title, it's interesting. I can already picture a book cove

I don't get it. How can you have a title, but not know what kind of a book it is?

The number of pages is determined by when the story is done. When it's over - that's how many pages it is.

The number of pages in a chapter is anything you want. James Patterson generally writes 1 - 2 pages. Stephen King has a one word chapter in Misery. Five letters and a period. William Faulkner has a chapter in As I Lay Dying that just says "My Mother is a fish." Cormac Mc Carthy didn't even use chapters in his Pulitzer Prize winning The Road. My chapters average 10 - 15 pages.

i would suggest writing the book before you name it. write something that has meaning to you, a story that you feel you need to share with the world. it doesnt necessarily have to be your own. i suggest reading a lot of books and that will answer your questions.. the classics are the kinds of books that set standards. and as for the type of book, write a book with a genre that interests you.

Sorry but you need to figure those out yourself. I wanted to write a book too. I had a story and dialogues in my head. Thought about it for a very long time. But I don't have writing skills.

Start with that: skill.
