The plans will have to be reviewed and
approved by the building department before they issue a permit to build.
The plans submitted for review will have to be stamped by an licenced engineer, architect, or the people there will give you an exasperated look and will just give them back to you and refuse to file your plans for review.
Did you draw up a full set of mechanical drawings or just in on the design phase?
Has an architect reviewed the plans for compliance to "good building practices" code following, local ordanances? Do you have a site plan showing site elevations, building elevations, set backs from the street, cub cuts, property lines etc.?
Do you have a licenced architect stamp on the bottom of the plans to submit for review?
With all the bases covered the plans will be reviewed then a permit will be issued to build and you're on your way.
Hope it turns out great.
