Is Mystic Tape still on the market? Mystic tape was a Cloth backed tape that came in many different colors and widths. I used it primarily to repair the spines on old books, and record album covers. It was available in the notions and hardware departments of many of the better stores. I can't even find it in Wal*Mart now. Anybody know what happend to it? is it still made? Chuck

Mystic tape was a division of Borden in Chicago, Illinois. My father was national sales manager for Mystik tape in 1969, but apparently the division was shut down or sold. There was a patent associated with the company which seems to have expired in 2004, but the last logos are from the mid 80s.. It was a great product, so maybe it will make a comeback someday. Sure is interesting to see the number of questions about it turned up from a Google search.

Wow, who made the decision to stop making this tape? I remember my mom using it to cover the holes in the linoleum. It was great for covering rips in car upholstery and Dadís recliner. Is there a replacement on the market for Mystic tape, and where can I find it?
