Sorry, it wouldn't do well in the UK outside of a tropical greenhouse. I live in Southern California and we have to grow them year round in a hothouse. Minimum temp is 65 F. takes several years to get to blooming size and it is a LARGE vine. Has to be hand pollinated and is receptive for only a few hours per day of the 1 day life of the bloom. Pretty Orchid but not worth the hassle.Answer 2
It would definitely die in your climate if left out during the winter, but it is possible to bring it inside in the winter and place it in a sunny window to allow it to continue growing. I have several orchids I do this with in Central Texas where the Winter temps can drop to the low 20's/upper teens Fahrenheit.
I bring them inside when the nighttime temps fall below 50 degrees. They go back outside when the nighttime temps rise above 55-60 degrees.Answer 3
No - your climate will not permit it. It could only be grown indoors or in a greenhouse environment.
