Most people will tell you that weight loss is about calories in vs. calories out. Personally I have found that I can lose weight if I still have a hot chocolate every so often (probably about three a week), so long as that is one of my only indulgences. I also tend to only have a half a cup of hot chocolate (which I make myself) and I froth up the milk so that it:
- looks like it's more than it really is
- makes me feel like I'm indulging more than I am.
Personally I like to have my hot chocolate with a few almonds to help stabilise my blood sugars and for a little extra protein and calcium. This helps me maintain a healthy diet the rest of the day. With a little exercise and daily walking, I have been able to lose about 2 lb a week regularly for the last 6 weeks doing this.
