what is a reasonable price for a TV This is not spam, just trying to get your thoughts on how much is reasonable for my TV. I'm looking at selling my TV and have it posted as accept reasonable offers, but our thought on reasonable and others thoughts are about $200 apart. It's a 60" Sony KDS r60xbr1. It seems the optical block has gone but it's still viewable. It has a green tint to it, other than that the picture is fine. What would you consider reasonable? We were offered as low as $50, which we do not think is reasonable.

Well if this link is still accurate it's

almost $700 for the part, plus the labor. So add $900 or so to whatever you sell it for, and that's what it will cost to be useful to the next owner. That's a lot of money to spend for a 5+ year old tv, which may need a $200 lamp at any time.

Sony lawsuit

Sony extended the warranty on that set with that problem as a result of a class action suit. Just like Toyota they were well aware of the problem and sold the sets anyways. I'm not sure if it is still in effect. You might google sony lawsuit and see. Or check with a local Sony service shop or dealer.

Its JUNK.

You'll be lucky not to have to pay someone to haul it away.

Its available BRAND NEW for $149.

Your's is broken and needs more than that in service just to get a 5 year old TV set.

Only a complete fool would pay $200 for it - not that the world isn't full of them and you may get lucky. But I gather you expect even more than $200. Now, you will need a complete fool on a day trip from the asylum.
