I'm doing a powerpoint slideshow of childhood photos to the present for a birthday present for a loved one.... My question is, if I copy it on cd will it lose settings if played on a regular dvd player? Will the dvd player even recognize it as a video? Is there a way to convert it if not?

Poere point will not play on a regular

you do have several options, you can open all the pictures in movie maker and make a slide show there that will play on a VCD capable player as well as on any computer.

If the power point is burned to CD as it is, your relative can view them on a computer if they have power point, or a .ppt viewer on the computer.

Picasa can make video CDs or DVDs
