Driving sunglasses? I bought a pair of "driving sunglasses" and noticed that everything I see thru the lenses are of a red tint. Also, it doesn't seem to darken the sunlight all that much. I'm used to grey colored sunglasses and block out a lot of the sunlight. Is it normal for everything to be red? I may return it.

It's the tint you bought. There's no such

thing as driving lenses. Yellow is the traditional shooters' glasses color to sharpen contrast on gloomy days. Gray is the neutral color. I like green b/c it amps up stuff like grass/ baseball fields.

G15 is the famous pilot glass lens that Bausch&Lomb made into aviator glasses for WWII.

I've found the best lens color for me is brown..

especially brown polarized. Brown increases color-contrast and is more soothing to the eyes.

The lenses I'm wearing now are called Drive-Wear, they are a Transitions lens that turns from a light green indoors to a medium brown in the sun. They are polarized and will get dark behind the windsheild of your car as they use UV and visible light to change.

They don't get very dark unless it's cold, but, studies have shown that a good medium tinted polarized lens is better than a really dark lens.
